Ukraine Independence Day 2024
This Doodle’s Key Themes
Today’s Doodle honors Ukraine Independence Day. On this day in 1991, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted The Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine and the country became a sovereign democracy.
The 33rd anniversary of independence recognizes the resilience of the Ukrainian people and acknowledges all those who made sacrifices for the nation in the past and present.
Independence Day is a time to appreciate Ukrainian culture and heritage. One such symbol is the nation’s bicolor flag, which can be seen in today’s Doodle. The flag represents Ukraine’s vast, golden fields of wheat with a blue sky overhead and was flown during the Ukrainian War of Independence.
