Peru National Day 2016
This Doodle’s Key Themes
Happy Fiestas Patrias, Perú!
Perú celebrates their independence in a multi-day series, but the entire month of July is fair game for flying the flag of Perú. Celebrations usually begin during the final week with official ceremonies start on the 28th, when Congress invites the President to give an address to the nation. The week is spent celebrating Perú's progress, and the vibrancy of the country's traditions and culture. Today's Doodle features the glorious Machu Picchu peak — an ancient point of Peruvian pride that graces the bucket lists of travelers around the globe.
