Panama Independence Day 2015
This Doodle’s Key Themes
Happy Independence Day, Panama! Unlike other countries, Panama independence is celebrated for an entire month, not just a single day. November 3rd is when Panama declared its independence from Colombia. November 4th was announced Flag day. The 10th marks Panama's first cry of Independence in La Villa de Los Santos, and the 28th is when Panama received full independence from Spain. Viva! That's a lot to celebrate!
Today we’re celebrating Panamanian pride with their vibrant flag: the red and blue represent the two historical political parties, and the white represents peaceful democratic process.
¡Feliz día de la Independencia, Panamá!
